Instructions for setting up Email forwarding using the Control Panel

When you click on the Email heading you will now see:

POP3 mailboxes
This option may be used at your discretion to setup auto-responders. It is possible to add a pop-box (mailbox) then set up an auto-responder on that pop-box that sends an automatic reply to the incoming message and forwards the original message to you at your normal ISP address. However we do not support your use of pop-boxes on our servers and we recommend that you use the forwarding option described next.

Forwarders
Use for setting up email forwarding:

An alias email address purely receives an email, and then forwards it on to another designated address. The "alias" part of an email address is the part before the "@" sign (eg sales, info, support, salesperson). You can set up your email so that sales@yourchosenname.co.uk is forwarded to one email address, info@yourchosenname.co.uk is forwarded to another email address and everythingelse@yourchosenname.co.uk is forwarded elsewhere.

To modify or delete an existing forwarder: click on the forwarder and change or delete the settings.

To add a new forwarder:

Click on "Add new Forwarder" to add a new alias forwarder to your account. This will take you to a sub-screen that will allow you to configure this new alias:

Forwarder name: @yourchosenname.co.uk
Destination Address:

The 'Forwarder name' is the prefix of the email address (e.g. A Forwarder name of 'sales', would make an address sales@yourchosenname.co.uk). The 'Destination Address' is the address that you want the emails forwarded to for example, yourname@yourorganisation.co.uk or yourname@hotmail.com.

Once you have completed the page, click 'Create forwarder'. Your new email forwarding is now set up and ready to test.

Nobody Alias

It is possible to set up an Email Alias that collects all emails that are not caught by other addresses on the domain. This is done by creating an alias with an 'Username Address' of 'nobody'. This alias will collect all emails that are not recognized by any other email address on the domain, and forward them to a specified destination.

A common use of the Nobody Alias is to allow every single email sent to a domain name to be forwarded to another email address. This can be useful where people emailing you make a spelling mistake in the address or you want to receive emails from several addresses in one place.

The nobody alias is used by itself when you want everything that is sent to your domain to be forwarded on to one address.

Postmaster Alias and Root POP3 box

The postmaster alias and root pop3 box should be left as it is as it handles some technical issues relating to the domain name.
